Telecoms Offer Reasons To Celebrate Independence

The environment is rife with celebrations as Nigeria marks 45. Those born 45 years ago are crossing the borderline of young men to becoming old men. But life has not been a swing. There are hisses and moans as people ruminate over missed opportunities.

No sector illustrates this better than the telecommunications industry where Nigeria did reasonably badly until only six years ago when some visionary came to breathe life into the communications sector courtesy of a great choice made by the President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo in the person of Engr Ernest Ndukwe who is the Executive Vice Chairman and the CEO of the Nigeria Communications Commission, NCC, the regulatory body.
